A question whose answer is heavily researched by college students and Chicago Cubs fans on a daily basis. However, I'd have to say that Jerry Whipple takes the cake. According to Andrew Evans over at Gadling:
The Coast Guard was tipped off by a boater who noticed the man, thought he was dead, and radioed in. Whipple was taken to the hospital by the Coast Guard for further attention. Man, he only had about 89 more miles to go to get to Cuba!
The United States Coast Guard yesterday rescued a Florida man who got drunk, climbed into an inflatable swimming pool ring (the kind little kids use), passed out, and then drifted a mile offshore from in Belleair Beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
