Thing Progress writes today about Sharon Angle (Republican candidate for Senate in NV) and her quest not to bring jobs to her state. Angle, who won her primary with the support of the Tea Party, sees those collecting Unemployment Insurance as "spoiled" and says that, as a Senator, it wouldn't be her role to bring jobs and industry to Nevada. However, Charlie Eisenhood's Think Progress article goes on to point out that Angle has taken shots at Sen. Reid for doing exactly what she says isn't a Senator's job:
ANGLE: Fourteen percent unemployment in the state of Nevada, the highest foreclosure rate in the nation in Nevada, and the highest rate of bankruptcy in Nevada. That is where people have really held Harry Reid accountable because Harry Reid doesn’t care about their jobs. He doesn’t care that they are having trouble staying in their homes and that’s why Harry Reid needs to be fired.Of course, it's not surprising to see a political candidate riding both sides of the fence on an issue, but usually they do so in an attempt to attract voters. Telling them she specifically won't work toward bringing new jobs to their state probably isn't going get a whole lot of people clamoring to tick her name on election day.
